(NewsNation) — A helicopter has crashed into the Hudson River near New York City Thursday afternoon.
Rescue teams from New York City and Jersey City, New Jersey, were on site performing rescue operations.
Those in the area of the West Side Highway and Spring Street have been told to expect traffic delays and emergency vehicles in the area.
The temperature of the river is currently around 47 degrees Fahrenheit.
The cause of the crash and status of those on board is unknown.
