A new report has surfaced regarding Ryan Routh, the would-be assassin who tried to take Trump out while he was playing golf in Florida.
If you recall, Routh’s weapon was spotted by Secret Service at the fence line along the Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach.
Routh never got a shot off and was later apprehended by authorities, but it now appears that Trump literally sidestepped a bomb.
Take him out
Routh’s court filing has revealed that he had other plans than just being able to take a shot at Trump on the course.
The DOJ filings in his prosecution have revealed that Routh was trying to obtain a rocket-propelled grenade (RPG).
He had allegedly messaged a contact, stating, “Send me an rpg or stinger and I will see what we can do…[Trump] is not good for Ukraine.
“I need equipment so that Trump cannot get elected.,” Routh added.
Routh’s communications also included prices and other details of the weapon he wanted, so I am starting to wonder how he was not tagged earlier by authorities and investigated.
For instance, in one conversation, Routh allegedly stated, “[G]oing to the local store for such an item is impossible — however you are at war so those items lost and destroyed daily — one missing would not be noticed. Do you think Trump will be good for Ukraine?????”
After Routh was caught, authorities announced that Routh had allegedly written a letter confessing to the attempt on Trump’s life, stating, “This was an assassination attempt on Donald Trump, but I am so sorry I failed you.”
Even though this would appear to be an open and shut case against Routh, his defense team is claiming “irreparable misidentification,” claiming that authorities only showed a picture of Routh to eyewitnesses when they were hunting him down.
The trial for Routh is set to begin on Sept. 8. If he is found guilty, he could be sentenced to life in prison.
Routh was one of two failed attempts on Trump’s life during the 2024 election cycle.
His was the second failed attempt, with the first taking place in Butler, Pennsylvania, in July.
In that attempt, one innocent bystander lost his life, several other people were wounded, and Trump was shot in the ear, solely because he happened to turn his head at the precise moment the bullet was fired.
Trajectory analysis after the attempt showed that had Trump not turned his head when he did, the bullet would have struck him in the head and likely killed him.
