CV NEWS FEED // The Archdiocese of Detroit is offering a retreat to support individuals with divorced or separated parents who may find the holiday season challenging.
Hosted by the Life-Giving Wounds Chapter, the Dec. 14 morning of reflection is designed to help participants navigate the emotional struggles that often arise during this time of year, such as deciding which parent to spend time with, managing relationships with stepfamilies, and dealing with anxiety about family conversations.
The Life-Giving Wounds ministry was founded in 2015 by Bethany and Daniel Meola to support adult children of divorced and separated parents, “a vast but underserved group in need of attention.”
The upcoming retreat, to be held at St. Kieran parish in Shelby Township, aims to provide a safe and supportive space for participants to share experiences and reconnect with the joy of the season.
Attendees will hear a moving talk addressing the unique difficulties of the holidays, reflecting on personal stories and offering practical steps to embrace the joy the Lord has in store. Activities include Mass, breakfast, quiet reflection time, group discussions, and fellowship.
The event is free, but participants are required to register in advance.
