The crowd at the 98th annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade cheered loudly and chanted “USA” as police arrested anti-Israel activists who attempted to disrupt the event.
On Thursday, New York City Police Department (NYPD) officers arrested around 20 anti-Israel activists who jumped in front of the Ronald McDonald balloon in an effort to disrupt the parade.

The crowd loudly booed the protesters, who had been lined across the street holding a banner reading “Don’t celebrate genocide” while chanting “free, free Palestine” and demanding an arms embargo against Israel.
Responding to the chants and the disruption, the crowd soon began chanting “USA” as police flooded the area to arrest the anti-Israel activists.

Fortunately, the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade was only delayed by roughly five minutes due to the anti-Israel protest. As of Friday afternoon, authorities are still in the process of determining what charges the activists will face.
This disruption came just one day after New York City Mayor Eric Adams (D) warned the public against trying to protest the parade — calling those who would disrupt the family-centered event “grinches.”
“I really want to take the moment to tell those grinches that believe they are going to disrupt the parade that it is not going to happen,” Adams said, according to the New York Post. “Just like how we responded last year, we are going to be on top of those who attempt to interrupt the parade in any way possible.”
This is the second year in a row that radical leftist anti-Israel activists disrupted this event, though last year’s protest was much more ridiculous — as the activists jumped barricades and glued their hands to the asphalt in the middle of the parade route.
Social media users also responded to the anti-Israel protest, with many questioning why the vast majority of leftist “protesters” think it looks good for their cause to disrupt the daily lives of Americans or their special events — pointing out that these kinds of demonstrations only cause the public to despise the protesters and, by extension, their cause.
“I have no idea why liberals support these kind of attention seeking narcissists. All it does is turn people against them,” author John Hawkins wrote.

“Raise your hand if you want all of those clowns to be deported. They’re all anti-American, Hamas’ useful idiots, holding this flag [Palestinian flag emoji] that represents death and terrorism,” the popular X account “Vivid” wrote.
