All anyone has been talking about over the last few weeks has been the Trump transition team and his appointments.
What they missed, however, was another big swanky affair held at the White House courtesy of John Q. Taxpayer to give Biden his big sendoff.
From the reports I have read, this was just one big lovefest for Joe.
Biden’s Big Day
A massive tent was erected on the South Lawn for the event, and it was filled with Biden loyalists to paint him as a “hero” for his sacrifice of having dropped out of the election.
Jill Biden gave a big speech, and people were screaming “We Love You, Joe” while she toasted her husband.
Joe got a little emotional as Jill spoke, wiping a tear from his eye before the two of them had a slow dance together.
When Biden finally addressed the room, he stated, “One thing I’ve always believed about public service and especially the presidency is the importance of asking ourselves, ‘Have we left the country in better shape than we found it?’
“And tonight, I can say with all my heart the answer to that question is a resounding ‘yes,’ because of you.”
Biden added, “There’s another Irish poet who once said that history teaches us not to hope on this side of the grave, but then, once in a lifetime, a longed-for tidal wave of justice rises up and hope and history rhyme.
“You’re making hope and history rhyme.”
As has been the norm over the last year or so of Biden’s presidency, his remarks were kept brief to avoid his rambling off-topic.
Something of note was that while Tim Walz and his wife were present at the event, Kamala Harris and Doug Emhoff were not in the room, sparking more debate about a possible rift between Harris and Biden.
