Restoration Weekend in Florida Burns Progressive Lies

The David Horowitz Freedom Foundation Restoration Weekend (November 21–24), a meritorious event I attended, dealt with restoring American freedom. All attendees and speakers were excited about the opportunity the America-First movement led by Donald Trump has to reverse the totalitarian assault on us and rescue our liberty.

Almost all speakers asserted Democrat Party totalitarians and establishment elitists have brought us to the brink. They dominate our society and have controlled both parties. The establishment, including RINO and Democrat congressmen, will do anything to defeat the threat to them by the America-First movement.

Democrats and their media and establishment partners have politicized government and justice to keep Trump off the ballot, put him in jail, bankrupt him, and even kill him. Trump’s heroic efforts prevailed against this anti-American criminality.

Attendees laughed at Representative Byron Donalds’s (R-FL) stories about the joyful Trump campaign, including riding in a garbage truck at a Green Bay, Wisconsin event. Trump was himself and told the truth, while a far-from-joyful Harris tried to hide the truth and herself.

Various speakers stated that the US approaches to the Ukraine and Gaza wars have weakened us and that these conflicts would not have happened with America-First leadership. Unless we reinvigorate the US economy, strengthen our military, and better define our national defense objectives to align with American wishes, we cannot effectively confront our external adversaries.

Many speakers identified DEI (diversity, equity, and inclusion) as subversive to our culture and institutions. DEI undermines merit, the prime driver of human advancement. While DEI advocates condemn so-called bigotry, attendees at the Restoration Weekend were diverse and tolerant—consistent with the principle of equality before our creator.

Attendees were united in condemning the Joe Biden regime’s politicized justice, but there were no calls for revenge. We want the proper application of the law, which means government officials who have violated the public trust should be held accountable.

Isabel Brown, the 27-year-old spokesperson for Turning Point USA, gave a compelling presentation about her book: The End of the Alphabet: How Gen Z Can Save America (2024). Referencing the upside-down culture promoted by progressives, she said, “Lies have become truth, while truth and those seeking it are silenced and vilified.”

Creator-granted individual rights are at the core of our society. Under totalitarianism, individuals have no rights and exist to serve the state. Liz Collin, author of They’re Lying: The Media, The Left, and the Death of George Floyd (2022), demonstrated this with her documentary: The Fall of Minneapolis (2023).

Collin showed how the prosecutor, judge, and police chief were biased against Derek Chauvin and the other defendants. The negative publicity and the certainty of riots, had the defendants been acquitted, added to the rigged verdict. The judge excluded evidence that Floyd did not die of strangulation but had enough illegal substances in him and medical conditions to cause his death.

Attendees groaned when the screen showed the FBI had immediately involved itself in the Floyd case. The FBI’s crimes against Trump and its deeming of Catholics and concerned parents as potential terrorists have discredited the institution.

#Walkaway founder Brandon Straka received vociferous support from attendees. The Biden regime used January 6 as cover for targeting him for his politics. Meanwhile, there has been no credible investigation of the FBI’s and Antifa’s role in the January 6 event, and this must change.

Marxist manipulators were behind both the Floyd and January 6 cases. As president, Barack Obama elevated Black Lives Matter’s (BLM) self-declared communist founders to stardom. Obama promoted the false narrative of systemic racism in law enforcement to divide our society.

BLM and Antifa were ready to pounce once they had an incident, which Floyd’s death provided. Democrat mayors and governors protected rioters and persecuted their victims. Collin showed that Minnesota authorities were part of this strategy.

Communism is a lie totalitarians use to conquer societies. Their enemy is truth. Democrats and their media partners have vilified Collin to discredit her evidence, just as they have created the false January 6 insurrection narrative to vilify Trump and his supporters.

Democrats and their media partners are desperate to stop Trump from exposing these lies. The truth would cripple the Marxist agenda and establishment control of our society. This underlines the need to boycott regime media.

Former Representative Louie Gohmert, the event’s last speaker, quoted Freedom Center founder David Horowitz and his latest book America Betrayed (2024). Horowitz, once a Marxist, explains that “By empowering a revolutionary ‘vanguard’ to act as gods and recreate the world, we believed we could achieve a humane and just future … How could we believe that the same human beings whose greed, deceit, envy, bigotry, sadism, and hate were responsible for human misery could liberate the world if only they could acquire enough power to compel everyone else to obey them?”

The establishment has considered Horowitz and his organization to be on the fringe. Biden regime actions prove Horowitz is correct. Americans are awakening to Horowitz’s view, which explains Trump’s victory. Trump’s job now is to expose the truth and recover our freedom.
