President-elect Donald Trump’s newly appointed border czar, Tom Homan, isn’t here to mince words or waste time. His top priority? Kicking out illegal immigrants who pose a danger to national security and public safety.
Homan’s approach promises to be a sharp U-turn from the Biden administration’s laissez-faire attitude toward border security, which has seen millions of undocumented immigrants pour into the country.
Under Biden, the border has been more like a revolving door at a department store—open for anyone and everyone. Millions of illegal immigrants have entered the U.S., putting immense strain on the economy, healthcare system, and law enforcement.
Democrats, meanwhile, have largely ignored American concerns, instead focusing on protecting illegal immigrants through sanctuary city policies and attempts to overhaul immigration enforcement. But with Homan at the helm, those days could soon be over.

Homan has already hit the ground running. He’s met with border agents, Texas Governor Greg Abbott, and other officials to prepare for a massive deportation effort.
His strategy is clear: prioritize deporting those who pose the biggest risks to Americans. “The priorities will focus on public safety threats, national security threats, and fugitives,” Homan said.
Terrorist threats are at the top of his list. Homan is targeting individuals on the federal Terrorist Watch List, “Special Interest Aliens” (SIAs), and individuals from “countries of foreign concern.”
He’s working closely with the FBI and intelligence agencies to identify and locate these individuals. With a record number of people on the terrorist watch list crossing the border in recent years, Homan is treating the crisis as a national security threat akin to 9/11.
For Homan, mass deportation isn’t something to shy away from—it’s a necessary step to restoring law and order. His plan is based on simple math: millions of illegal immigrants have entered the U.S. under Biden, and most don’t qualify for asylum.
According to Homan, nearly nine out of ten immigrants in the asylum system will receive removal orders because their claims don’t hold up in court.
“You can’t demand due process and then ignore the outcome when it doesn’t go your way,” Homan said, criticizing the current system that allows failed asylum seekers to stay in the country indefinitely.
He’s adamant that enforcing removal orders is the only way to solve the border crisis. “Mass deportation” may sound harsh to some, but Homan argues that the alternative—letting millions of people stay illegally—would undermine the rule of law and invite even more illegal immigration.
Sanctuary cities, brace yourselves. Homan has vowed to “flood” these jurisdictions with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents. His message is clear: local policies won’t stop federal law enforcement from doing its job.
Cities that have shielded illegal immigrants from deportation will find themselves on the front lines of Homan’s crackdown.
He’s also urging illegal immigrants to “self-deport,” reminding them that voluntary departure is preferable to being forcibly removed. And for those who might think Homan’s tough talk is just bluster, his track record speaks volumes.
During Trump’s first term, Homan spearheaded initiatives that significantly reduced illegal border crossings and increased deportations of dangerous criminals.
Homan isn’t just talking tough for show. He’s tackling a border crisis that has spiraled out of control under Biden.
Millions of illegal crossings have overwhelmed border patrol agents and flooded American communities with drugs, crime, and economic burdens. Criminal cartels have thrived under the chaos, smuggling drugs and people across the border with little resistance.
The border czar sees this crisis not just as a logistical challenge but as a fundamental threat to national security.
By focusing on dangerous individuals, Homan’s plan aims to protect Americans while sending a clear message to the world: the U.S. is no longer open for illegal immigration.
Homan’s approach will likely face fierce resistance from Democrats and sanctuary city officials. But he seems unfazed.
His focus is on protecting Americans and enforcing the law, even if that means stepping on a few toes. With a Trump administration backing him, Homan has the tools—and the mandate—to bring order back to the border.
