Republicans are “bad men,” actress Sharon Stone has said at a festival in Italy
The 1990s sex symbol Sharon Stone has lashed out at “bad men” who elected Republican Donald Trump US president, accusing her compatriots of being arrogant and ignorant like teenagers.
Trump won the popular vote, the Electoral College and all seven swing states in the November 5 election, defeating Vice President Kamala Harris, despite having just a third of her campaign funding.
“Italy has seen fascism. Italy has seen these things. You guys, you understand what happens. You have seen this before. My country is in its adolescence. Adolescence is very arrogant. Adolescence thinks it knows everything. Adolescence is naive and ignorant and arrogant, and we are in our ignorant, arrogant adolescence,” the actress said during a panel at the Torino Film Festival in Italy on Monday.
“Americans who don’t travel, [most of them] don’t have a passport, who are uneducated, are in their extraordinary naivete,” she continued.
According to Stone, “this is a time when we can no longer look away when bad men are bad.”

Stone, 66, is best known for starring in the sci-fi action film ‘Total Recall’ (1990), erotic thriller ‘Basic Instinct’ (1992), and crime drama ‘Casino’ (1995). She was in Turin to accept a lifetime achievement award.
The Democrats and their allies have often used derogatory terms when speaking about Trump supporters. Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton famously referred to them as a “basket of deplorables,” while outgoing US President Joe Biden labelled Trump voters “garbage.”
Trump has rejected such rhetoric as hateful and accused the Democrats of being out of touch with regular people. “250 million Americans are not garbage,” he said during one of his closing rallies last month.
Just a day after Stone’s denunciation of Trump voters as ignorant teenagers, senior Harris campaign officials admitted that their internal polls never showed them winning the election.
