For about a week, the House Judiciary Committee was trying to track down former prosecutor Nathan Wade.
If you recall, Wade is the prosecutor with whom Fulton Count DA Fani Willis had an affair and was forced to resign from the case.
Rep. Jim Jordan had to enlist the services of the U.S. Marshals, but they finally got their man.
Time to Talk
Jordan wanted Wade to testify last week, but Wade avoided having the subpoena served on him until the morning of the scheduled testimony.
They finally tracked him down and served him that morning, with Jordan later calling his behavior “clearly dilatory.”
Wade may have been able to delay his testimony, but that is all it was.
Wade made roughly $700,000 on the Trump case, even though he was not an “expert” on RICO, which has raised a lot of questions (he was being paid nearly double what the expert attorney was being paid).
Jordan has not stated the exact information he wants from Wade, but I would suspect it is something to support Trump’s case to have Willis removed from the case.
Jordan is trying to prove the DOJ was weaponized against Trump. Even though this is a state case, Jordan believes there was some coordination with the DOJ regarding the timing of the case being presented.
Again, I would expect Jordan to try to work out a time for Wade to come in and speak with the committee, but will Wade cooperate, or will he continue to play games?
If he does, I believe Jordan will file a contempt referral to pressure Wade to come in and tell the committee what he knows.
