Netanyahu: “The length of the ceasefire depends on what happens in Lebanon. We will enforce the agreement and respond forcefully to any violation. We will continue united until victory.”
The ceasefire goes into effect at 4:00 AM (Israel time).
During the initial 60-day period, IDF troops will gradually withdraw from Lebanese territory; the Lebanese army will deploy in southern Lebanon and will force Hezbollah to disarm south of the Litani River.
Israel retains the right to self-defense if Hezbollah or any other armed group violates the agreement.
Hizb’Allah must be destroyed.
Prime minister Netanyahu announces ceasefire agreement with Lebanon and appeals to the public with 3 reasons it is needed now:
1. Providing rest for soldiers + rearming, which won’t happen until Biden is out
2. Isolating Hamas
3. Shifting focus to Iran
