Hosts of ABC’s “The View” have long been known for expressing animosity towards President-elect Donald Trump and other conservatives.
Yet in a stunning move, the network recently forced them to issue a series of legal statements regarding Trump’s allies.
Hosts had to clarify remarks concerning Matt Gaetz and George Santos
According to Breitbart, that development came during this past Friday’s episode and began after the women made about former New York Republican Rep. George Santos.
Specifically, Joy Behar referenced Santos’ “23 criminal charges” for “wire fraud, money laundering, and making false statements to the House of Representatives.”
However, Behar later told viewers that she “just got a note” before adding, “We have to clarify that Santos eventually reached a plea deal after pleading guilty to wire fraud and aggravated identity theft.”
Another interruption came in regards to remarks that the women made about former Florida Republican Rep. Matt Gaetz, who recently withdrew his nomination for attorney general.
More notes read about Pete Hegseth and Pam Bondi
“I have a legal note,” Sunny Hostin announced. “Matt Gaetz has long denied all allegations and has not been charged with any crime.”
Hostin then went on read another note from ABC’s legal team on comments which had been made regarding sexual assault allegations against secretary of Defense nominee Pete Hegseth.
“Pete Hegseth’s lawyer said he paid the woman in 2023, to head off the threat of a baseless lawsuit. He has denied any wrongdoing,” Hostin said.
This was in turn followed by another legal note concerning suggestions that Trump nominated Florida Republican Attorney General Pam Bondi to head the Department of Justice as part of a corrupt bargain.
“Both Trump and Pam Bondi have denied allegations of a quid pro quo that his past donation played any role in her office’s decision to not take legal action against Trump University when she was the attorney general of Florida,” Hostin added.
Hosts were forced to issue an earlier note about Gaetz
Breitbart noted how fellow “The View” host Ana Navarro at one point joked, “This show is just going to be legal notes and things we’re selling.”

The website pointed out that this was not the first time “The View” hosts have been forced to issue on-air retractions, as a previous note about Gaetz was read out just days earlier.
