As Donald Trump prepares to reassume the presidency, he has already revealed significant changes and appointments to his administration.
Trump has confirmed key exclusions — including that of former campaign rival and former administration official Nikki Haley — and the selection of a new chief of staff in a major reshuffling of his team as he gears up to re-enter the White House, as the Daily Mail reports.
Recently victorious in the presidential race, Trump has begun the process of forming his new administration. This time around, notable figures such as Haley and former U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo will not be included.
During his announcement, Trump extended his gratitude to both Haley and Pompeo for their service in his prior administration. However, he confirmed they would not be part of his future team. Haley, who had a significant following during the Republican primaries, distanced herself from Trump’s campaign, often expressing skepticism about his actions and predicting adverse reactions.
New Chief Of Staff Appointed
Among new appointments, Susie Wiles has been named the first female White House chief of staff. Wiles has been a pivotal figure in Trump’s previous electoral victories, and she is noted for her effectiveness and well-respected stature within political circles.
“Susie Wiles just helped me achieve one of the greatest political victories in American history,” Trump remarked, applauding her role in both his 2016 and 2020 campaign triumphs. Trump highlighted Wiles’ attributes in his statement, calling her “tough, smart, innovative,” and highlighted her widespread admiration and respect in the political sphere.
Changes in the Trump Administration
While Haley and Pompeo are out, other appointments are being made to bolster the upcoming administration. Among these, former Georgia Sen. Kelly Loeffler has been appointed to co-chair Trump’s inaugural committee.
Loeffler, appointed to the Senate in 2019 by Gov. Brian Kemp, will play a significant role in organizing the inauguration events. The committee, named the Trump-Vance Inaugural Committee, aims to celebrate Trump’s election victory.
Trump plans an inauguration that emphasizes “the American People and our nation,” looking to foster a sense of national pride and celebration.
Inaugural Committee Goals
Speaking on the upcoming inauguration, Trump stated, “The Trump Vance Inaugural Committee will honor this magnificent victory in a celebration of the American People and our nation.”
The incoming administration is set to prioritize policies that Trump asserts will return strength, success, and common sense to the Oval Office. “This will be the kick-off to my administration, which will deliver on bold promises to Make America Great Again,” he explained.
The formation of his administration is described by Trump as a moment “steeped in history and tradition,” emphasizing the work ahead to achieve a bright future for Americans.
Roger Stone Critiques Former Officials
Political consultant Roger Stone has been openly critical of both Haley and Pompeo, casting doubts on their alignment with Trump’s America First agenda. Stone’s criticisms have highlighted the perceived incongruences between their actions and the core values Trump promotes.
He referred to Haley as “a political chameleon who has changed with the times in ways that are incredibly self-serving.” Pompeo, he suggested, would potentially support interests contrary to Trump’s vision if included in the administration.
Stone’s stark critique included a warning against Pompeo’s potential influence: “If Pompeo is placed into the next Trump administration, his history shows he would promote the hegemony of the deep state rather than an authentic America First agenda,” and it seems clear that the incoming commander in chief agrees.
