As Democrats and supporters of Vice President Kamala Harris still come to terms with President-elect Donald Trump making his return to the White House, Charlamagne Tha God questioned whether they really considered the Republican a “threat to democracy.”
The question was brought up on Friday’s episode of “The Breakfast Club,” as Charlamagne listened to clips of President Joe Biden’s speech reacting to Harris’ defeat.
Instead of hearing the usual rhetoric on how Trump is a danger to the country, the radio host pointed out Biden’s optimism.
“Don’t y’all find it strange that now that he’s won, they’re not calling him a threat to democracy? They’re not calling him a fascist. I mean, damn, on Monday, they was just calling him that,” he said.
“I would think that, you know, if you really believe that, then somebody’s speech would be about how America effed up and how things are about to be really bad. It just makes you wonder how much of it did they really believe, or how much of it was just politics. That’s all.”
Charlamagne’s revelation comes as the left has been silent about Trump supposedly being a dictator. Before Tuesday’s election, mainstream media was filled with anti-Trump rhetoric.
Biden was heavily criticized after calling Trump supporters “garbage” just a week ago.
The president appeared to change his tune on Thursday, being all smiles and sharing his optimism for the country, as Resist the Mainstream reported.
