Romans 8:9-11 9 You, however, are controlled not by the sinful nature but by the Spirit, if the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ. 10 if Christ is in you, your body is dead because of sin, yet your spirit is alive because of righteousness. 11 And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit, who lives in you.
Things were black and white for the Apostle. He declared that every man and woman is under the dominion of either their wicked nature or the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit cannot reside in someone without exercising influence over him or her. Most Christians appear to believe that the Holy Spirit lives inside them, but they are frequently ruled by their sinful nature. That is not the teaching we encounter here.
Paul is saying that if the Spirit of God lives in us, our old nature is dead, and our spirit is alive because of Christ’s righteousness. He encouraged us to consider ourselves dead to sin but alive to God in 6:11. Nonetheless, most Christians regard themselves as alive to sin but scarcely alive to God. We have jeopardized the power of the Word and the power of the resurrection. We must not stress on becoming sinless, but rather recognize the power of the resurrection to break the hold of sin and replace it with the control of the Spirit.
Because of this prevalent misunderstanding, we prefer to interpret verse 11 as something that will happen one day when we are bodily resurrected. He is referring to the present moment. The power of the Holy Spirit, which raised Jesus, is at work in you right now to give life. Throughout the New Testament, death is defined as walking in sin, while life is defined as being in the Spirit of God. Our physical bodies can be made alive in order to obey the Spirit of Life, the Spirit of Christ, who indwells us. Consider yourself awakened to life, enabled to walk in holiness, and governed by the Holy Spirit if Christ dwells in you.
Remember: You can walk in the newness of life because of the power that raised Jesus.
The Great Tribulation
It is our belief that the Great Tribulation referred to in the New Testament Book of Revelation (chapters 6-11) is unfolding before our eyes. In the near future, we will devote the “Tribulation” tab on our “Trending” menu to this emerging reality. As people continue to unplug from mainstream media, our commitment is to present the truth and encourage our audience to understand current events from a Biblical perspective. The Watchman
In the Bible, the Watchman is responsible for keeping watch and warning others of potential danger or impending judgment. The role is mentioned several times in the Old Testament, particularly in the book of Ezekiel. In Ezekiel 33:6, God says to the prophet Ezekiel, “But if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet, so that the people are not warned, and the sword comes and takes any one of them, that person is taken away in his iniquity, but his blood I will require at the watchman’s hand.” Click here to begin the journey.
