Jill Biden’s Former Staffer Has Strong Response to Joe Calling Trump Supporters ‘Garbage’ – ‘Bonehead Move’
Well, it finally happened. Earlier this week, Joe Biden had his “deplorables” moment.
During a call with the Hispanic activist group Voto Latino on Tuesday, Joe slammed Donald Trump’s Madison Square Garden rally for a comedian’s joke calling Puerto Rico a “floating island of garbage.”
“The only garbage I see floating out there is his supporters,” Joe said in response.
In saying this, Joe blasted millions of Americans who are voting for Trump in this election. Indeed, this moment was reminiscent of Hillary Clinton calling Trump supporters “deplorables” back in 2016. Many felt that this comment played a huge role in her losing the election.
Now, a former staffer of Jill Biden is speaking out to torch Joe for making this comment days before the presidential election.
From Fox News:
Michael LaRosa, Jill Biden’s former press secretary, meanwhile, wrote on X that the White House’s attempt to transcribe “supporters” as “supporter’s,” was “a bonehead move and one they’ve been caught making before.”LaRosa also reposted another post that pointed out that Biden had previously expressed shock in an NBC News interview over Trump supporters’ vitriol toward him.
“I’ve never seen a circumstance where you ride through certain rural areas of the country and people have signs there stand — big Trump signs with — m — middle — signs saying “F Biden” and the little kid standing there putting up his middle finger,” Biden said in a July 15 interview, according to an NBC transcript.
Trump himself has responded to Biden’s remark by saying that it is even “worse” than what Clinton said years ago.
“Garbage, I think, is worse,” he said. “But he doesn’t know. You have to please forgive him.”
“Please forgive him for not knowing what he said,” Trump continued. “These people are terrible, terrible, terrible to say a thing like that. But he really doesn’t know. He really, honestly, he doesn’t. And I’m convinced that he likes me more than he likes Kamala. But that’s a terrible thing.”
Harris Distances Herself From Biden
Meanwhile, Harris has tried to distance herself from Biden’s “garbage” comment.
“I strongly disagree with any criticism of people based on who they vote for,” she said. “I believe that the work that I do is about representing all the people, whether they support me or not.”
Unfortunately for Harris, it seems that the damage has already been done. Even a former staffer of Jill’s can’t deny that Biden effectively said the quiet part out loud here. Indeed, that is exactly what Democrats think of the millions of people daring to vote for Trump.
This is also exactly why Harris has been trying to distance herself from Biden in the final days of her campaign. Though Biden is allegedly eager to campaign for Harris, sources have said that she’s blocked him from hitting the campaign trail with her. He’s shown time and time again that he’s simply a loose cannon who has become a liability for Democrats. As Biden rambles, he’s prone to revealing the true thoughts of the left to the world. Democrats certainly can’t have that!
Jill is undoubtedly fuming that her former staffer is speaking out against her husband, but there’s nothing she can do about it. In the end, she should be busying herself with packing for her family’s impending move out of the White House, anyway.
Key Takeaways:
- Joe Biden calls Trump supporters “garbage.”
- Jill Biden’s former press secretary admits this was a “bonehead” move.
- Harris is desperately trying to distance herself from Biden.
