A large super PAC supporting the Harris-Walz campaign is being accused of intimidating black voters in swing states.
The “creepy” and “deceptive” ads brazenly warn voters that while their vote is private, “Your voting history is public and accessible to “friends, family, and neighbors.”
According to Breitbart, the ads were purchased by Future Forward and are running in swing-state cities with large black communities. The insinuation is that whether they vote or not could be outed to people they know.
“The ads, which are being aired heavily in major swing-state cities like Atlanta, Detroit, Milwaukee, and Philadelphia, have raised eyebrows for their intimidating and quasi-official presentation,” Breitbart reported.
The ads are misleadingly using propaganda-style graphics as a backdrop that are “reminiscent of an official government seal” which reads “National Voter Report.”
One of the ads uses a deep, authoritative voice that announces an “election alert” while advising, “Who you vote for is private, but IF you vote is public information.” It is minimalist and done in black and white to convey severity.
I just got served this ad on YouTube from a pro-Harris PAC, and it is *extremely* creepy. Borderline threatening. What the hell is this? https://t.co/pkDFR5lO23

“After this election, your voter record will be updated, and your friends and family will be able to see how often you vote,” the ad advises before warning voters to “do your civic duty” by voting.
Future Forward PAC has been heavily criticized for the ads, asserting that they appear threatening to voters.
“The ad campaign reflects the Democratic Party’s focus on high-stakes swing states where black voter turnout is crucial to their electoral strategy. In 2020, urban black voter turnout helped secure Biden’s win, but recent polls show slipping support among black men and Hispanic voters. With Trump gaining ground, Future Forward PAC, backed by Silicon Valley donors, unleashed over $700 million to bolster Harris and other Democrats this cycle,” Breitbart wrote.
This is messed up! Kamala Harris through her Future Forward USA PAC has been pushing these commercials out on YouTube attempting to intimidate voters by imputing that if they fail to participate in this election, they will be targeted for harassment. https://t.co/9CP41KnB5v pic.twitter.com/a12sQFrPYI

It should come as no surprise that there is allegedly dark money behind the ads that are running in support of the Harris/Walz ticket.
“A dark money giant funded by key tech donors including Facebook co-founder Dustin Moskovitz and Netflix co-founder Reed Hastings and secretive nonprofits like the Sixteen Thirty Fund, Future Forward PAC spent over $100 million backing Joe Biden in 2020, ranking as the third largest advertiser of the election. By 2024, the group had raised close to $400 million, with $25 million from its Super PAC and the rest from dark-money sources,” Breitbart noted.
BREAKING: BIDEN-BACKED SUPER PAC RECEIVES $150M IN 24 HOURS

“Future Forward remains central to Democratic efforts, bolstered by significant contributions from left-wing donors, including George Soros, Michael Bloomberg, and a slew of progressive billionaires. As Harris’s main super PAC, it received a $9 million donation from a fund tied to the League of Conservation Voters in August, alongside $3 million from Facebook co-founder Dustin Moskovitz,” the media outlet added.
“The PAC, the biggest spender in the campaign by far, aims to flood airwaves during the last weeks leading up to the election with pro-Harris ads and aggressively push for progressive policies through highly unconventional strategies,” Breitbart contended.
Users on X blasted the ads while dishing out a heavy dose of snark:

The tone and graphics appear to make it seem as if it’s some official government alert. It’s pretty sketchy.

Have you voted, citizen? It is of utmost importance. Please do not disappoint us.
— Magills (@magills_) October 25, 2024
Your friends and family will know. They will check up on you. You don’t want to disappoint them do you?
— John Ekdahl (@JohnEkdahl) October 25, 2024
It’s an intimidation campaign using the vague threat of friends and family finding out you’re a bad citizen or something. I’m not sure it’s an effective threat, but that’s certainly the intent.
— John Ekdahl (@JohnEkdahl) October 25, 2024
It is the manifestation of their growing terror regarding their turnout sucking

They’ve never had an effective argument why you should vote for Kamala. Now they’re using scare tactics & shame because that stuff works on them.
— Snarknado (@ZannSuz) October 25, 2024
The biggest smile came across my face. They are TERRIFIED of cratering turnout. You see this in local direct mail but NEVER with big ad $ behind it because it risks backfiring.

This smells of intimidating. Not cool and definitely creepy as hell.

Now they’re threatening people to vote the way they want? Yet, somehow the right are the fascist lol.
