We are now just one week away from Election Day. The race between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump appears to be closer than ever, as the two have been neck and neck for weeks.
This means that the smallest of things could prove to be a deciding factor when it comes to who will come out victorious. That’s why Harris has to be in full panic mode after her running mate Tim Walz’s damning past came back to haunt him.
It’s been alleged that during his teaching stint in China back in 1989, Walz had a secret fling with the daughter of a high-ranking Communist official. Jenna Wang, 59, is claiming that Walz showered her with gifts and seduced her during his time teaching at No. 1 High School in Foshan, Guangdong Province.
From Daily Mail:
The lovers could not risk holding hands or showing affection in public because Wang’s dad was a high-ranking figure in the Chinese Communist Party who would disown her for fraternizing with a westerner. But their romance blossomed behind closed doors as they sipped tea, made love and listened to George Michael hits – leading the then 24-year-old Wang to dream about marriage and a new life in the United States.
No proposal was forthcoming from the future Minnesota governor, however, and the shame of being treated ‘like a prostitute’ eventually left Wang feeling angry and suicidal, she claims.
Walz ‘Was Very Selfish’
All these years later, Wang has never forgotten how poorly Walz treated her.
“We were deeply in love and I wanted to marry him and start a family,” Wang recalled. “When it didn’t happen, I felt very unhappy and sad. Tim’s behavior was very selfish.”
The relationship got so bad that Wang contemplated jumping off of a clip at one point.
“I felt dead inside,” she recalled. “I wasn’t going to force a person to love me…I never saw Tim again.”
Walz’s time in China has already come back to haunt him. Indeed, he’s been caught lying about being in China during the Tiananmen Square protests. In reality, he didn’t arrive in the Asian nation until months later.
It was this lie that inspired Wang to come forward with her story.
“Tim lied about Tiananmen Square and he’s lied about other things,” Wang said. “This is a very crucial moment in history and a man like this does not appear to have the character and integrity to do one of the most important jobs in the world.”
This Is Bad For The Harris-Walz Campaign
Ever since Walz became Harris’ running mate, he’s been trying to portray himself as a lovably harmless grandfatherly figure. Harris is also counting on a large amount of female votes if she wants to win this election. The way that Walz allegedly treated Wang, however, will do nothing to help both his image and Harris’ reputation among female voters.
Being linked to the Chinese Communist Party in any way, regardless of how loosely, is also the last thing that Harris and Walz need right now. They’ve spent months trying to falsely portray themselves as moderates. Of course, this could not be further from what they really are, which is two radically liberal politicians. Walz having ties to the daughter of a Chinese Communist Party official serves as a reminder of who he actually is as a person.
At the time of this writing, Walz himself has yet to respond to Wang’s claims.
Key Takeaways:
- Walz allegedly had sordid affair with the daughter of a top Chinese Communist Party official.
- The alleged affair happened during Walz’s time in China in 1989.
- This comes after Walz lied about being in China during the Tiananmen Square protests.
