In what could be viewed as the ultimate slap in the face, President Biden is virtually begging Vice President Kamala Harris to let him join her on the campaign trail, but she’s apparently not interested.
According to the New York Post, Biden has reportedly attempted to campaign with Harris in the final stretch before the election, only to essentially told that she’ll get back to him on that request.
Individuals familiar with the situation told the outlet that the Harris campaign has snubbed the sitting president because he’s “a reminder of the last four years, not the new way forward.”
Biden has only stumped for Harris on a few occasions since he was ousted from the race by his own party, and it doesn’t take a political expert to realize why Harris wouldn’t want him hanging around.
Biden recently did a solo performance stumping for Harris in Pittsburgh, which reportedly took some of the vice president’s campaign staff by surprise, as they clearly didn’t want him out there representing their boss.
The Post noted:
The sitting president has been on the campaign trail a few times, including on Oct. 15, when he delivered remarks to the Philadelphia Democratic City Committee Autumn Dinner, last Monday when he stumped in New Hampshire and Saturday when he campaigned in Pittsburgh.
It was also noted that Harris snubbing Biden is nothing less than a serious kick in the teeth given that the president was the first to endorse her as his replacement after he was booted out of the race.

Aside from the fact that it’s Biden, the numbers themselves tell a clear story as to why Harris wouldn’t want him around, as his polling numbers are in the tank, to be kind.
The Post noted:
Looming over Biden reportedly being kept at arm’s length are his dismal ratings with a 40.8% approval to 56.6% disapproval score, per the latest RealClearPolitics aggregate.
The White House, obviously embarrassed by the reports of Harris’ resistance, denied them fully, according to the Post.
“There is always speculation in political circles, but this is not accurate,” White House deputy press secretary Andrew Bates said.
He added, “We are in close touch with the campaign to determine when, where and how the president can be helpful.”
Only time will tell if Harris changes her mind, but with less than a week left before the election, Biden is probably the last person she’ll want on the stage.
