The King County, Washington, 911 call center receives a call at 4:55 a.m. from a 15-year-old boy in the Fall City area, known for its multi-million-dollar homes. The boy reports that he is hiding in a bathroom on the main floor because his 13-year-old brother, Benjamin, just shot their family and then “took himself out.”
At 5:02 a.m., another call reaches the 911 center. Bradley Dennis, a neighbor, reports that an 11-year-old girl from the Humiston residence arrived at his home, repeatedly ringing the doorbell. She tells Dennis that her family has been shot and that they are all dead. Dennis says the girl appears injured, likely from a gunshot wound, and is bleeding from her neck and hand.
The 11-year-old girl informs 911 dispatch that she survived by pretending to be dead when the gunman entered her room. As soon as he left, she climbed out of a “fire window” and ran into the street. She then saw the gunman who shot her through a window at the front of the house.
When the dispatcher asks who the shooter is, the girl tells 911 that her brother killed everyone—and she fears he may come to the neighbor’s house to kill her.
