My two cents: Since when is asking for evidence (source) a bad thing? Why reject critical thinking?
Am I crazy?
I saw this scrolling my timeline on social media and my initial reaction was “well, duh, why would a news source endorse a candidate? If anything, isn’t that clear media bias and subjective journalism to do so?”
And then I thought it was weird that 3 editors resigned over this.
And then I opened the comments and was shocked to see people genuinely pissed off and claiming they’re canceling their subscription.
At which point I thought, “wow, people are fucking brainwashed af if they think it’s normal for their source of information to be biased.”
I mean, talk about conditioning. People are so used to a 2 party (uniparty), corrupt system of no real choice that they think it’s outrageous that a news source wouldn’t back a candidate.
Sure, is there an implication that the newspaper USUALLY backs someone and they’re doing it, in fact, to influence the election? Yeah, but regardless, why are we not more outraged by the fact that this is considered normal?
I think I am not crazy – Having the media being unequivocally aligned to a political agenda and that being the norm is completely wrong…

Australia bans Candace Owens from entering country due to “antisemitism.”
The US Anti-Defamation League, which works to combat antisemitism, has accused Owens of coming to “embrace and promote antisemitic tropes and anti-Israel rhetoric”, noting comments where she called Judaism a “pedophile-centric religion”.
LGBTQ+ advocacy organisation Glaad has pointed to allegedly anti-trans comments from Owens, including calling the trans equality movement “evil” and “satanic”.
She has also claimed “white supremacy and white nationalism is not a problem that is harming Black America”.

Comet ATLAS (C/2024 S1) is falling into the sun. Look in the lower right corner of this Oct 26th coronagraph movie from the Solar and Heliospheric Observatory (SOHO):
Not to be confused with Comet Tsuchinshan-ATLAS, Comet ATLAS is a Kreutz sungrazer, a family of comets that are fragments from the breakup of a single giant comet ~1000 years ago.
Comet ATLAS is special because astronomers thought it might be larger than average Kreutz comets, with the potential to survive and put on a magnificent display. Instead, it looks fairly ordinary. Comet ATLAS will probably disintegrate completely when it comes within 0.008 AU of the sun on Oct. 28th. Stay tuned for updated movies.
Here’s an awesome picture of Comet Zijinshan-ATLAS and the erupting Fuego volcano in Guatemala, October 2024.
A CME gently grazed Earth’s magnetic field on Oct. 26th. At first it seemed like nothing would happen. Then, the sky exploded:
A similar CME due to arrive on Oct. 28th could cause a repeat light show. Arctic sky watchers, keep your eyes to the sky…
