Officials in Pennsylvania have discovered thousands of voter registrations that appear to be fraudulent.
On Friday, Lancaster County Board of Elections revealed that at least 2,500 suspected fraudulent voter registration forms were dropped off, according to staff, per the Daily Mail.
During a press conference, it was revealed that staff contacted the proper authorities, including the elections board, once discovered.
Lancaster County District Attorney Heather Adams said that she was contacted about the fraudulent applications on Tuesday.
The voter registration applications in question were found to have similar handwriting, duplicate addresses, false names, names listed with inaccurate social security numbers and invalid driver’s license numbers.
Of the ballots that were examined by staff, 60 percent were determined to be fraudulent.
“Staff noticed that numerous applications appeared to have the same handwriting (and) were filled out on the same day,” said Adams, per WGAL 8.
“The confirmed indicators of fraud that detectives came across were inaccuracies with the addresses listed on the applications, fake and false personal identification information, as well as false names. Also, applications that had names that did not match the provided Social Security information.”
Lancaster County Commissioner Alice Yoder encouraged voters to re-examine their voter status and to contact the Board of Elections office with any questions or concerns.
“Voters can check their voter registration status, polling place, location and mail ballot application status on the Department of State website,” said Yoder. “And we encourage everyone to do that.”
“Any voter who has questions after checking the Department of State website should contact the Board of Elections office.”
Adams noted that it is an ongoing investigation.
The Keystone State is a critical battleground state for both former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris. The state holds 19 electoral votes.
The country has had its eye on Pennsylvania, as the state was one of the few that was accused of voter fraud during the 2020 presidential election, where it took four days for the state to declare President Joe Biden the winner on the Saturday following Election Day, the Daily Mail noted.
The polls in Pennsylvania will be open on Nov. 5 from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. local time, with ballots being counted on the same day.
Currently, Pennsylvania is in play for either candidate, with both being within one point of one another.
As over 30 million Americans have cast their ballots so far, as reported by the University of Florida’s Election Lab, many states are exercising caution as other cases relating to voter registration and ballots have been reported.
Fraudulent mail-in ballots were also discovered in Colorado.
