California News:
On November 5, 2024, voters will cast their ballot on federal, state, and local races, along with 10 statewide propositions and hundreds of local ballot measures. How many state legislators will be departing this year?
Every two years, all 80 seats of the State Assembly and half of the 40 seats in the State Senate are up for election. There will be a dozen new members of the Senate and two dozen new members of the Assembly when the Legislature convenes its next 2-year Session on Monday, December 2. There could be more if any legislator running for re-election is unsuccessful.
The following includes the 24 departing State Assembly Members.
On December 2, the Legislature will convene their 2025-26 Legislative Session. So, how many new legislators will be seated at that time?
