Whoopi Goldberg pushed back on Zachary Levi’s concern that supporting former President Trump could hurt his career in liberal Hollywood. She disagreed, saying Hollywood has always leaned right.
She told Levi, “Let me school you,” explaining that Hollywood is mixed like America. Sometimes it appears more Democratic, but she insisted that people rarely suffer for being Republican.
Levi expressed concern, saying supporting Trump could be “career suicide.” He mentioned this while moderating an event with Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Tulsi Gabbard. Goldberg quickly dismissed the idea, calling it “BS.”
She then posed the question about upsetting people with endorsements, answering, “Yes!” and noted there’s always a chance to step in “poo.”
Co-hosts Alyssa Farah Griffin and Sara Haines chimed in, arguing there’s too much pressure on celebrities to endorse candidates. They referenced Chappell Roan, who supported Kamala Harris but disagreed with her on the Middle East.
Sunny Hostin emphasized the importance of this election, claiming it could be the most critical of her lifetime. She urged those with a platform to be informed and engaged, regardless of their political stance.
The co-hosts have often pressed guests to support the Democratic candidate, especially after Biden dropped out, and have largely rallied behind Harris.
