A Minnesota food pantry has banned White people from its establishment, claiming the “resources” are for Black & Indigenous Folx” only. It’s unclear what the difference between “folks” and “folx” is but this may or may not be illegal.
According to The Post Millennial:
A Minneapolis, Minn. food pantry is only giving food to “Black and Indigenous” people, those who are hungry and white are told not to take the “resources” available. Mykelo ‘Keiko’ Jackson, who runs the food pantry, was awarded a Minnesota State grant to open the food pantry.
I am checking all the legal documents in Minnesota state history and nowhere did I find the clause allowing taxpayer funds to be used for people solely of a specific skin color. It’s also infuriating considering that White people also pay taxes and are just as much entitled to these “resources.”
In a serious state, this organization would lose nonprofit status and be subject to lawsuits but that’s not the status quo.
The sign on the pantry reads: “The resources found in here are intended for Black & Indigenous Folx. Please refrain from taking anything if you’re not.” An August post emphasized the mission, saying “With the help of our community and MDH: African American Health Office we’ve distributed 2,249 lbs of food to Black & Indigenous Folx in North Minneapolis. This is what liberation looks like on a small scale. We’d like to say THANK YOU to everyone that has supported this initiative, donated their time or resources to be in aid of commUNITY.”
I am having trouble seeing how “Black & Indigenous Folx” are “liberated” by making it harder for everyone else to obtain “resources” that one only resorts to in times of trouble.
It’s so disgusting how they lack shame in their racist game.
Jackson’s policy forced the food pantry to close down and open in another location. After opening on July 27 on the north side of the city, near the Sanctuary Covenant Church, Jackson let it be known that white people were not welcome to the food for the poor. Local chaplain Howard Dotson, 54, said that he went to the food pantry but was denied entry due to his race. He’s white.
Jackson said that “There was no one there directly turning them away. They felt entitled to the resources that were not for their demographic – white privilege is real,” going on to say that Dotson had engaged in “political violence.”
She has got some nerve to claim “white privilege is real” when he was denied access to a food pantry. If it were real, he would not be in a position needed to obtain these “resources” and/or he would have no trouble entering the establishment.
This is what we call “racist privilege,” as this organization gets a pass at engaging in some of the reprehensible practices by blaming victims.
We currently live in a time where the lunatics are running the asylum, as they base their entire worldview on lies. So while they think they are morally obligated to act like this, they are engaging in the practices they pretend to fight. And the fact that this helps them sleep at night makes them more pathetic than they could ever imagine.
