Many believe the case has been weaponized by left-wing politicians desperate to sideline the largest opposition party in France.
Marine Le Pen confidently addressed the court: “We have not broken any rules.” She reiterated that this case revolves around “parliamentary freedom” and declared that she has strong arguments to defend herself. Le Pen and her close allies, including Louis Aliot and party spokesperson Julien Odoul, are standing trial as part of this larger case against RN.
Political Motivation and Timing
The timing of the trial raises even more questions. This isn’t just about alleged misuse of funds; it’s about silencing the nationalist right. Several parties worked together in the last elections to prevent Le Pen from securing a major victory, and now they’re hoping to use the courts to finish what they started.
