The clash of the political parties continues, and former President Donald Trump asserts that Democrats are making moves to keep him from being protected during his campaign.
Democrats, according to Trump, were meddling with his 2024 campaign and affecting the size of his crowds by not allocating enough funds to the Secret Service to keep him safe, as The New York Post reported.
The 78-year-old Trump brought attention to the assassination attempts he has endured in the past few months, as well as the purported attempts by Iran to damage him.
He also claimed that the Secret Service has been unable to protect rallygoers adequately, leading him to make these claims.
Trump’s Claims
“The Democrats are interfering with my Campaign by not giving us the proper number of people within Secret Service that are necessary for Security,” Trump claimed on Truth Social Monday.
“They’re using them for themselves, even though they don’t need them – they draw ‘flies’ — because they have no crowds.”
Trump’s statements come as both Trump and Democrat candidate and Vice President Kamala Harris have been putting on rallies nationwide in the home stretch of the presidential campaign.
According to Trump, if his requests are not granted, his campaign will continue to be hampered, and his person further in danger.
Increased Calls for Security
“We need more Secret Service, and we need them NOW. It is ELECTION INTERFERENCE that we have to turn away thousands of people from arenas and venues because it is not being provided to us,” Trump added.
“With the weak crowd participation that the Democrats get, there should be plenty ‘left over’ for the Republican Party.”
During his Saturday rally in Wisconsin, Trump’s private frustrations regarding attendance seemed to serve as the foundation for his Truth Social manifesto.
“Hopefully the people of Wisconsin, and other areas where thousands are turned away, will realize that this is just another Democrat ploy!” he concluded the post.
