Actor Zachary Levi endorsed former President Donald Trump over the weekend at an event with former independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and former Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, D-Hawaii.
Levi, best known for his starring role in “Shazam!” and as the voice of Flynn Rider in Disney’s “Tangled”, indicated that he would have voted for Kennedy had he remained in the race, but saw Trump as the preferable choice over Vice President Kamala Harris.
“In a perfect world, in whatever that would look like, perhaps I would have voted for Bobby, but we don’t live in a perfect world,” he said, according to Fox News. “In fact, we live in a very broken one. We live in a country that has been hijacked by a lot of people who want to take this place way off the cliff, and we’re here to stop that.”
“We are going to take back this country. We are going to make it great again, we’re going to make it healthy again,” he went on. “And so I stand with Bobby and I stand with everyone else who is standing with President Trump. … Of the two choices that we have, and we only have two, President Trump is the man that can get us there.”
Kennedy initially ran for president in the Democratic Primary, but later opted for an independent run and ultimately threw his support behind Trump. Gabbard, meanwhile, ran for the Democratic nomination in 2020, but has since left the party and emerged as a favorite of the MAGA faction of the GOP.
