Presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has been asking for Secret Service protection for months.
One of the first statements made by Trump after the attempt on his life was to demand coverage for Kennedy.
Within hours of Trump’s statement, the Biden administration finally granted his wish.

Kennedy, while not having enough support to win the presidential race, will be a factor.
He has been floating around 10% support for most of this race, which is pretty significant for a third-party candidate.
With the temperature in the country being what it is, Kennedy had requested protection multiple times, but he was refused.
After the assassination attempt against Trump, the former president posted on Truth Social, “In light of what is going on in the world today, I believe it is imperative that Robert F. Kennedy Jr. receive Secret Service protection — immediately.
“Given the history of the Kennedy Family, this is the obvious right thing to do!”
Within hours, the Department of Homeland Security announced, “In light of this weekend’s events, the president has directed me to work with the Secret Service to provide protection to Robert Kennedy Jr.”
One excuse is that the Secret Service was stretched thin because Jill Biden had an event on the same day as Trump.
With Kennedy now being offered protection, I would imagine those resources will be stretched even further, especially because Senator JD Vance (R-OH) will now also have protection.
Director Cheatle better get herself into gear to ensure she has full coverage, or we will see another attempt on someone’s life at some point.
Honestly, from what I have seen so far in the breakdown of the assassination attempt, Cheatle should have been fired already.
However, as Trump noted during the debate, Joe Biden doesn’t fire people, regardless of how bad they are at their job.
And that apparently includes when someone’s incompetence results in the loss of life of a local hero and almost resulted in the first successful assassination attempt of a president since JFK.
