Atlanta police are searching for a man arrested for murder who escaped custody.
11 Alive reports that Carwon Marquavious Redding, 32, was in the custody of the Atlanta City Detention Center at Grady Hospital on Friday.
According to police, he escaped around 2:00 p.m. while waiting for medical treatment.
Redding was originally arrested by MARTA police on Thursday and charged with felony murder and attempted sale of cocaine. His murder charge stems from an April 14 homicide at 1980 Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway, according to police.
Redding was seen on surveillance video fleeing Grady Hospital in a hospital gown.
Police believe he may have changed clothes since leaving Grady. They are asking the public to contact 911 immediately if anyone finds a discarded Grady hospital gown or bright yellow socks.
The APD searched the area. Police said the inquiry into the circumstances of his escape is ongoing.
