In a shocking display of political bias, Pittsburgh’s iconic Primanti Bros restaurant refused to allow Ohio Senator JD Vance inside to greet his supporters. The move left many in disbelief, as the restaurant has previously welcomed Democratic figures like Kamala Harris and Tim Walz. The incident sparked an immediate response from the crowd of Vance supporters, who chose to pay for their drinks, cancel their food orders, and leave in solidarity with the senator.
Watch the video below to see how JD Vance’s supporters responded, and decide for yourself if this was an appropriate move by Primanti Bros.

Was the reason for this refusal simply because JD Vance is a Republican? Many seem to think so, especially considering the restaurant’s warm welcome for Harris and Walz just a short while ago. Fox News reported that back in August, Primanti Bros even went as far as to kick out regular customers to stage fake ones for a Harris/Walz campaign stop.
lol! For Kamala Harris’s visit to Primanti’s this afternoon they kicked out all the customers at 4pm so they could bring in their own audience. 🤦♂️ look at all the white vans. Keep that in mind as you see video of them interacting inside. 🤣 Kudos to the Trump supporters who… pic.twitter.com/8Q4pKEpUNv

Outraged patrons took to social media, questioning why the restaurant would shut its doors to someone with different political views. Mark Dodson, a local, shared his frustration, saying, “I was just here to enjoy the game, but now I see what this place really stands for.”
In today’s political climate, it’s no surprise that businesses are taking sides. However, alienating half of your customer base may not be the wisest choice.
