HOMEWOOD, AL – A 63-year-old Alabama plumber, Mohammad A. H. Mohammad, was apprehended for allegedly plotting to hire a hitman for the murder of his estranged wife and their six adult children.
According to the obtained criminal complaint, Mohammad, who owns a plumbing service in Homewood, Alabama, was arrested on September 24. A federal charge was brought against him, of which he was indicted on account of using interstate commerce facilities in his planned commission of murder-for-hire attempts.
Mr. Mohammad, who is currently involved in “active divorce proceedings” with his wife, whom he married in March 2021, allegedly guided a cooperating witness to locate a hitman for him. Following this, the FBI entrusted an undercover agent who was able to record their conversation. Mohammad said to the agent, “Six kids, and the mom. You pick and choose who you gunna take out, and get paid.” Mohammad also furnished the agent with a down payment for the proposed killings totaling up to $550.
Reports suggest that this wasn’t the first time Mohammad threatened the lives of his family members. The court had previously issued protection from abuse orders, covering Mohammad’s wife and two children in November 2021. This order explicitly restrained Mohammad from any form of intimidation, harassment, or stalking towards the individuals in question.
Allegations from his wife indicate that Mohammad has committed multiple violent actions against the family. Hoover Police Department had charged Mohammad with felony first-degree stalking, associated with Mohammad mounting GPS tracking devices on his wife’s and other family members’ cars. Multiple suspicious vehicle fires were also recorded over the years, while his bond was previously revoked due to a violation of the protective orders.
