California News:
Presidential candidate Kamala Harris made a 20-minute stop at the Arizona southern border Friday before heading to an event.
And apparently a 20 minute photo op was all it took to impress the muttonheads at the Daily Beast, who ran this headline:
Kamala Harris Shoves the Migrant Border Crisis in Trump’s Face.
NBC’s headline was just weird: Kamala Harris’ tough-on-migration pitch at the border… “Tough on ‘migration’?”
But it was the bizarre woman moving around the stage like Tim Walz in a dress who opened for Kamala Harris at her border speech Friday evening that I couldn’t take my eyes off of. Her arms flapped as she bobbed and weaved on stage.
She is none other than former San Joaquin County District Attorney Tori Verber Salazar, who was ousted by voters after a eight years of soft-on-criminals policies and “progressive” antics.
Tuscon.com reported:
While introducing Harris, Tori Verber Salazer, a Republican and former district attorney in San Joaquin County, California, recalled asking then-AG Harris for help tackling transnational drug trafficking.
“I said, ‘I need some help. My county is struggling.’ She said, ‘Bring me a plan,’” Salazar said. The additional resources and support had a rapid impact on drug seizures and arrests, she said.
“We were busting the guys on the street and we were busting the king pins,” Salazar said. “I can never thank her enough for what she did for my community.”
Tori Verber Salazar also spoke at the Democrat’s National Convention. And it was just as physically bizarre with flapping arms and dancing across the stage. CNN transcript:
TORI VERBER SALAZAR, FORMER DISTRICT ATTORNEY, REPUBLICAN: We didn’t have partnerships with DOJ or FBI or DEA or any of those law enforcement agencies. Now, we all work collaboratively.
She was the person who built the foundation in how we do criminal justice in America.
A current DA source messaged the Globe in August during the DNC saying, “Tori was the elected district attorney, and shows up at a rally chanting ‘no justice no peace’ and they have her at the DNC?”
ABC10 reported in June 2020 that San Joaquin County District Attorney Tori Verber Salazar was seen leading protesters in the chant “No justice, no peace,” during a protest in Stockton over the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis.
Verber Salazar “joined forces with two other DAs — Diana Becton of Contra Costa County and Chesa Boudin of San Francisco — as well as George Gascón, the former San Francisco DA now running for the top prosecutor job in Los Angeles, in announcing the formation of a ‘progressive law enforcement association,’” KQED reported in 2020.
By 2022, she was ousted largely for that alliance and her disastrous “progressive” track record.
This is the ad against her that helped unelected her:
The National Pulse reports Saturday that Verber Salazar, “who described herself as a Republican while introducing Harris in Douglas, Arizona, on Friday afternoon, has been a Harris donor since at least 2016, contributing to her Senate election fund. She was also an active participant in the nationwide, often violent Black Lives Matter protests in the summer of 2020. There is no evidence of her contributing to any Republican candidates.”
The National Pulse continues:
[Verber Salazar] Her own rap sheet of failure includes a plea deal with businessman Lyle Burgess, who sexually assaulted a 5-year-old. Burgess pleaded no contest to unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor, but Salazar and her team let him off easy, with just 90 days in jail and five years of probation. Stunningly, Burgess was not required to register as a sex offender thanks to the plea deal.
Another example is that of Tyrone McAllister, who robbed and beat a man but took a plea deal with Salazar that saw him serve just six months in jail. Two months after his release, McAllister was charged with shooting a man in Oakland, California.
Salazar’s soft touch approach is also believed to have been responsible for the murder of an infant by its own father during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Verber Salazar is one of 13 current and former prosecutors highlighted by Fair and Just Prosecution (FJP), a leftist organization created in 2017 “to train and elevate left-wing elected prosecutors in order to implement lenient left-progressive approaches to criminal justice.”
Verber Salazar is featured by FJP alongside recalled former San Francisco DA Chesa Boudin, Chicago’s State Attorney Kim Foxx, Philadelphia, PA District Attorney Larry Krasner and Baltimore City, MD Former State’s Attorney Marilyn Mosby.
Influence Watch has investigated FJP and reports this:
Fair and Just Prosecution (FJP) is an advocacy group focused on organizing, training, and promoting elected prosecutors, including State’s and District Attorneys who adopt lenient, left-progressive approaches to criminal justice. It is a fiscally sponsored project of the Tides Center, a left-of-center advocacy organization created to “incubate” new activist organizations until they acquire their own tax-exempt status. 2
FJP opposes “tough on crime” and “incarceration-driven” approaches to criminal justice in favor of alternatives to incarceration, legalization of marijuana, ending cash bail, and prescribing treatment rather than prosecution for crimes related to drugs and mental illness. 3
Tori Verber Salazar is also being investigated for fraud by her replacement, San Joaquin County District Attorney Ron Freitas.
Stocktonia.org reported:
Freitas said the alleged malfeasance arose from the handling of an auto insurance fraud grant program dating back to 2017. The program would furnish district attorney’s offices across the state with funding to investigate and prosecute auto insurance fraud, he said.
“While performing an audit of the 2024 Auto Insurance Fraud Grant Application, it was discovered that an investigator within the San Joaquin County District Attorney’s Office had been falsifying timesheet information in order to justify the District Attorney’s Office Receipt of Grant Funds,” said Freitas’ office on social media and on the county’s website.
No wonder Biden border “Czar” Kamala Harris is associated with former District Attorney Tori Verber Salazar.
