Do you want to know what will happen if Democrats are able to override the filibuster or get complete control of our government?
Look no further than legislation proposed by Senator Ron Wyden (D-OR).
If his legislation passed, it would add six seats to the Supreme Court, as well as expanding the judiciary, all presumably while a Democrat was in the White House.
Insanity
Democrats have been after the court ever since Donald Trump appointed his third justice.
With conservatives now having a 6-3 edge on the court, Dems want to expand the court so they can take back the advantage.
Mind you, I have often stated that even with that edge, this is the most balanced court I can ever recall, as all three of Trump’s justices, as well as Justice Roberts, will cross the aisle if they believe it is following our Constitution, and that is all we can really ask from our court members.
As I have stated before, I don’t need to support every decision to feel that the court is just and fair, and I think this court gets it right just about every time.
Wyden wants to change that, stating, “The Supreme Court is in crisis and bold solutions are necessary to restore the public trust
“More transparency, more accountability, and more checks on a power-hungry Supreme Court are just what the American people are asking for.”
Nothing this radical has been proposed to the court in nearly 100 years, and that effort failed miserably, as will this one.
Schaerr Jaffe law firm partner and Senior Fellow at Center for Renewing America Mark Paoletta responded, “This shows Democrats entire ethics smear campaign against Justices was pretext to pack [the] Court.
“Democrats don’t want an independent Supreme Court. Despite attacks on Justices, Court’s approval rating is much higher than the dismal 20% for Congress. Clean up your own house.”
You need a reason to pull the handle for Republicans in the Senate in the upcoming election? Well, if you respect our Founding Fathers, you just got it.
