Former president Trump has faced an assassination attempt while speaking at a Pennsylvania rally in July and another during a golf game earlier this month.
Following a report that a foreign government is also seeking to take his life, Trump demanded an explosive response from his successor.Â
“Your country gets blown to smithereens”
According to the Daily Mail, the former president announced at a campaign event in North Carolina that intelligence officials said he is being targeted by Iran.
Trump called on President Joe Biden to tell Iran’s leaders, “If you do anything to harm this person we are going to blow your largest cities and the country itself to smithereens.

“We are under threat. I have been threatened very directly,” Trump declared before later saying, “Your country gets blown to smithereens, as we say.”
“As you know, there have been two assassination attempts on my life that we know of, and they may or may not involve, but possibly do Iran, but I don’t really know, can’t be sure,” Trump stressed.
Campaign spokesman says Iran “is terrified” of Trump
Fox News reported earlier this week that the former president was briefed on “real and specific threats” directed towards him from the Islamic Republic.
“Intelligence officials have identified that these continued and coordinated attacks have heightened in the past few months, and law enforcement officials across all agencies are working to ensure President Trump is protected and the election is free from interference,” Trump campaign communications director Steven Cheung was quoted as saying.
“Make no mistake, the terror regime in Iran loves the weakness of Kamala Harris, and is terrified of the strength and resolve of President Trump,” Cheung continued.
“He will let nothing stop him or get in his way to fight for the American people and to Make America Great Again,” the campaign spokesman went on to add.
Trump frustrated by FBI’s investigation of would-be killers
The Daily Mail noted that Trump also expressed dissatisfaction with the FBI’s failure to glean evidence from electronic devices belonging to his would-be killers.
“The FBI has been unable to open the three potentially foreign based apps,” the former president was quoted as telling supporters.
“And in the second case, the assassin had six cell phones in his car, yet the FBI has likewise been unable to penetrate their guard. Shouldn’t be tough to do,” he complained.
