The Ministry of National Economy (NGM), in collaboration with MGFÜ Public Benefit Nonprofit Ltd, is organizing the nationwide event Night of Modern Factories (Modern Gyárak Éjszakája) for the eighth time, scheduled for 8 November 2024. As in previous years, the Hungarian Economic Development Agency’s programme offers opportunities for personal visits as well as online participation, the NGM announced.
The main objective of the Night of Modern Factories, co-financed by the European Union, is to demonstrate how modern technology is transforming production and to bring industrial processes shaped by digitalization and automation closer to the public. Participating companies will showcase the innovative, modern, and unique solutions that contribute to their successful operations at one of the country’s most successful corporate activity exhibitions.
The event offers free visits to numerous factories, where the latest technologies, such as robotics, Industry 4.0, and sustainable production solutions, will be demonstrated. Visitors will learn how modern production units operate and how they contribute to the competitiveness of the Hungarian economy.
Richárd Szabados, State Secretary for Small and Medium Enterprises and Technology at the Ministry of National Economy, said in the statement: ‘The Night of Modern Factories is an excellent opportunity for manufacturing companies that contribute to our economic success through their digital solutions and modern technologies to introduce themselves to the public. The event not only offers visibility but also creates networking opportunities for SMEs, potential suppliers, and job seekers.’
The initiative was launched in 2017 and has been available in both online and offline formats since 2020. The programme’s attendance has been steadily increasing, and the list of participating factories continues to grow: while 24 factories from 10 counties participated in the inaugural year, last year saw 92 factories from 17 counties. This year, visits are already confirmed in Eger, Debrecen, Makó, Gödöllő, and Budapest, with organizers still welcoming further company registrations.
