Vice President Kamala Harris will be sitting down with MSNBC anchor Stephanie Ruhle for her second solo interview since beginning her bid for the presidency on Thursday.
This will be Harris’s first one-on-one interview with a legacy media outlet, as her only other one was with Oprah Winfrey last week for a “Unite for America” rally in Michigan. During that event, Winfrey and audience members asked Harris various questions, but the whole purpose behind the event was to promote Harris’s candidacy.
Ruhle hosts MSNBC’s daily late evening show, The 11th Hour, which focuses on the issues and news driving the political conversation.
Just last Friday, Ruhle appeared on Bill Maher’s show, where she defended Harris’s choice to evade press interviews.
“There are some things you might not know her answer to, and in 2024, unlike in 2016 for a lot of the American people, we know exactly what Trump will do, who he is, and the kind of threat he is to democracy,” Ruhle said.
In response, guest Bret Stephens said that the voters “don’t know her answer to anything.”
