A survey undertaken in the preceding year revealed that a notable 23 percent of the American populace concurred with the assertion that “due to the current state of disarray, true patriots of this great nation may find it necessary to resort to violence to preserve our homeland.” In a more recent inquiry, it was discovered that 28 percent of Republicans either strongly agreed or agreed with the notion that “Americans might need to engage in violence to restore order to our country.” In contrast, a mere 12 percent of Democrats expressed agreement with this sentiment.
Among the owners of firearms within the United States, such beliefs are even more pronounced. A study conducted by the University of California, Davis, indicated that “approximately 42% of individuals possessing assault-type rifles deemed political violence as justifiable, with this figure rising to 44% among those who have recently acquired firearms, and an astonishing 56% of those who consistently or nearly always carry loaded weapons in public.”
Trump has stated, “If we lose this election, I doubt there will be another election in this country,” framing the upcoming vote as a matter of survival for the nation.
With the 2024 election on the horizon, the specter of political violence and societal collapse looms larger than ever. Despite the lessons gleaned by U.S. national security and law enforcement since January 6, the nation remains ill-equipped to handle a potential uprising.

Former President Donald Trump was shot in the ear by a would-be assassin at a Butler, Pennsylvania rally on Saturday. Trump could be seen grabbing his ear and falling to the ground, before standing up and walking off stage. Approximately nine shots rang out. A member of the crowd, as well as the shooter, are dead following the assassination attempt. One Trump supporter says he alerted Secret Service before the shooting and was ignored. Trump’s team reportedly asked for ‘beefed up protection’ and was rebuffed over and over by Biden DHS. The bloodshed that will precede the election has only just begun.
