The following article, Failed British Prime Minister Boris Johnson Calls Tucker Carlson “Traitor” for Interviewing Russian President Vladimir Putin, was first published on another website.Big League Politics.
“Around the world, people are watching that ludicrous interview with Vladimir Putin conducted by Tucker Carlson, and we must not fall for this tissue of lies above all for the notion that Putin is somehow fated to succeed in Ukraine. On the contrary, he is doomed to failure,” Johnson declared in a video that the British media outlet the Daily Mail posted.
Since leaving Fox News year, Tucker rolled out his own media venture and program on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter. On February 6, 2024, Carlson announced that he would interview Putin. As The Hill noted, Carlson’s interview was
“the first time a member of the Western media interviewed the Russian leader since he invaded Ukraine nearly two years ago.”
In a Daily Mail op-that was published on February 9, Johnson took Carlson to task his interview with Putin, declaring that he was “fawning, guffawing” and had “slack-jawed happiness at having a ‘scoop.’” On top of that, Johnson proclaimed that Carlson “betrayed” viewers worldwide by interviewing the Russian president.
“He didn’t ask tough questions. He didn’t ask Putin why even now he is using the most brutal means of modern warfare to maim and murder innocent Ukrainian civilians,” Johnson observed.
Johnson argued that Carlson behaved like a Putin sympathizer and “boneheadedly” embraced Putin’s “mixture of semi-masticated Wikipedia and outright falsehood.”
The two-hour interview was notable for Putin talking about Russian history and how it ties to the current conflict in Ukraine. Additionally,
Putin manifested his willingness to negotiate with the U.S. over the war in Ukraine.
Johnson also criticized Carlson for not praising Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky for his perceived valor in the face of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. .
“Not since George Galloway went to Baghdad and hailed the indefatigability of Saddam Hussein have we seen such a display of bum-sucking servility to a tyrant,” Johnston declared. He continued by arguing that Carlson was “just the medium, the sewer, the hose” for Putin to disseminate his message across America.
The failed Prime Minister stated that he hopes “that the people of the U.S. are able to see through last night’s unholy charade of an interview.”
Johnson has no business labeling members of the populist Right as “traitors” when his government and the broader ruling class in the UK have facilitated a massive immigration invasion. This is the highest form of treason.
If anything, Carlson’s willingness to hold dialogues with the likes of Vladimir Putin shows that he’s a patriotic American who is willing to de-escalate a conflict that does not advance any pressing American national interest.
Despite the pushback he received for the interview, Carlson should continue putting out hard hitting content. Truth be told, Carlson may be one of the last few journalists out there who is willing to rock the boat.
