The loosening of the Senate’s dress code for lawmakers is causing quite a stir.
On Tuesday, the co-hosts of “The View” discussed the controversial change.
“Yesterday, Chuck Schumer ended the dress code in Washington cause they all have to wear suits and skirts and dresses and stuff,” Whoopi Goldberg said.
She argued it was a “kind of a really wonderful thing for Fetterman.”
However, she noted conservatives have balked at the change.

On Monday, it was reported Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) directed the change of the dress code.
Schumer said senators will be able to “choose what they wear on the Senate floor.”
However, the change only applies to senators and others will have to follow the dress code.
Some noted the change will allow Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pa.), who suffered a stroke in 2022, to wear a hoodie and shorts on the Senate floor.
But Fetterman dismissed criticism of the move. During an interview on MSNBC, he said, “The right have been like losing their mind, you know, they’re just like, ‘Oh my god! Dogs and cats are living together!””
‘And like I said, aren’t there more important things we should be talking about rather than if I dress like a slob,” he added.
