Migrants at a Staten Island shelter are being bombarded by a blaring 24/7 recording urging them to leave, claiming the site is rat- and mold-infested and that they “are being lied to by Mayor Eric Adams.”
The audio recording was being blasted from a professional speaker in five languages — English, Spanish, Ukrainian, Chinese and Urdu — at an ear-splitting level of 117 decibels Monday afternoon from the property of homeowner Scott Herkert next to the controversial former St. John Villa Academy-turned-migrant shelter.
A migrant who arrived outside the shelter with her luggage Sunday, when the warning first started playing, pulled out her phone to record it and then called an Uber and fled, residents said.
The recording being blasted out to the illegal aliens says, “You are being lied to by Mayor Eric Adams. This shelter has 300 cots in one room. You will have no privacy, you will have no showers — you had a hotel room with privacy and a bathroom in New York City.
“Do not get off the bus, tell them you want to go back to your hotel … this shelter has rats and cockroaches, this building has mold and is unsafe for you. You are being lied to, this building is not safe for humans. The community wants you to go back to New York City — immigrants are not safe here!”
As the audio blared out on Sunday and Monday, over a dozen illegal aliens were reportedly seen leaving the site.
The audio recording was the idea of Newsmax personality John Tabacco, a former Independent city comptroller candidate, who declared, “In my view, the use of legal psychological warfare is fair game.”
Earlier this month, local residents were greeted a busload of illegal aliens just coming in after dark by yelling, “Go home! We don’ want you!”

Independent journalist Leeroy Johnson, otherwise known as “Viral News NYC,” said local Staten Island residents are furious over the illegal aliens being moved into their area. He wrote:
Downtown Brooklyn at a migrant shelter. Migrants set up a flea market right outside the shelter looking to make a few bucks. I spoke with some from Africa, the first thing they asked me is for work and to help them with working papers . They told me they will take any job that comes along and they are hard workers.
The streets of this location have migrants everywhere. Seems like the Africa migrants and the Latinmigrants are in two different groups . I also spoke with some people who live in the area , and they told me they are extremely upset about this move and don’t feel safe in the area anymore.
