We have some breaking news! Exxon Mobil, the world’s most hated corporation by progressives, has become the first company to call out the insidious claims made around achieving “net-zero” by 2050. The US supermajor pushed back against investors’ attempts to make the company report on the risks of greenhouse gas emissions and environmental disasters, stating that “net-zero” is a remote possibility that shouldn’t be evaluated further in financial statements. The International Energy Agency has suggested that to reach the NZE scenario, new oil exploration had to have stopped in 2021 and nations would have to switch to renewable energy, both of which are highly improbable.
