There’s an old saying among those in the business of law, which is that you never ask a question that you don’t already know the answer to — this being sage advice someone might want to share with U.S. Rep. Mouth-Breather, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y.
AOC saw fit to get involved in a spat involving Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, certain that would garner the attention she craves, but she didn’t count on being shown up so badly when Cruz took her to school on the history of the Democratic Party.
Cruz had commented on the NAACP issuing a ridiculous travel advisory for Florida — even though the civil rights organization‘s hypocritical president LIVES there — saying in a tweet that Dr. Martin Luther King “would be ashamed of how profoundly they’ve lost their way.”
Norman Ornstein, contributing editor for the Atlantic, weighed in to say, “Guess who would’ve been first in line to filibuster against the voting rights act, and the civil rights act. Yes, Ted Cruz!”
“Nonsense. That shameful filibuster was led by Democrats—your party,” Cruz countered. “My party—the Republicans—proudly voted for the Civil Rights Act in much higher percentages than the racist Dems.”
And this is where our socialist hero/bartender came into play, tweeting: “Why don’t you go ahead and tell people what happened to the parties after that, Ted.”
Ask and ye shall receive — Cruz responded:
1/x Sure.
– First, the Dem party founded the KKK.
– Then the Dem party wrote Jim Crow laws.
– Then the Dem party filibustered the Civil Rights Act. https://t.co/ix3fACqwkB

The Republican senator was just getting started, as he laid out a thread that further explained the differences between the two major parties and some of his efforts to improve the lives al all Americans.
3/x – The Republican Party was founded to oppose slavery.
– Our first Republican President was Abraham Lincoln, who won the Civil War and ended slavery.
– It was Republicans who voted for the civil Rights Act in a much higher percentage than racist Dems.

5/x
– Today, (in 2017) I passed the largest expansion of federal school choice EVER (making 529 plans cover K-12), over the objection of ever single Senate Dem.
— Ted Cruz (@tedcruz) May 23, 2023
7/x
– And to add to all that, the Dem party aggressively supports open borders—which has led to the deaths and brutal assaults of thousands of Hispanics, and @aoc somehow can’t seem to find her White pantsuit to cry over their suffering.

While Ocasio-Cortez is still fumbling around to come up with a good response, Twitter boss Elon Musk was loving the jousting going on.
“The kind of interaction that makes this platform so unique & entertaining!” he tweeted.

Here’s a quick sampling of other responses, as seen on Twitter:
I can help! Democrats doubled down by embracing the “soft bigotry of low expectations” angle, becoming a party bent on telling a myriad of groups that they’re weak and incapable without the party’s help in an attempt to keep them under their thumb. Y’all are heinous.

The Democrat party is still the party of racial hatred, segregation & slavery. Now it’s mental slavery & their racial hate now targeted at white people. The spirit of racism lives in the Democrat party

If I were in the party of pro-slavery and the KKK I’d be making up magical switch stories too.

“It is almost impossible to imagine the United States Senate without Robert Byrd. He was not just its longest serving member, he was its heart and soul. From my first day in the Senate, I sought out his guidance, and he was always generous with his time and his wisdom”
