Ron DeSantis shattered fundraising records in Florida during last year’s Midterm elections.
DeSantis’ ability to raise cash makes him a dangerous threat to his political enemies.
And POLITICO revealed a set of secret fundraising meetings held by Ron DeSantis that left Democrats on edge.
During the 2022 Midterm elections, Ron DeSantis raised more than $200 million for his reelection campaign.
This was one of the highest totals in gubernatorial history.
DeSantis finished the race with nearly $100 million left in the bank that he could use to kickstart a Presidential campaign.
And apparently Ron DeSantis has been secretly holding fundraising meetings in preparation for his White House bid.
“The Florida Governor — who is expected to announce his presidential campaign following his state’s legislative session — has been privately reaching out in recent months to a bevy of potential supporters in the Empire State,” POLITICO reported. “DeSantis visited the Long Island estate of billionaire cosmetics heir and GOP donor Ronald Lauder several months ago, two people with direct knowledge of the sit down told POLITICO.”
According to POLITICO’s sources, DeSantis made it clear that he believes he is the only Republican who can defeat Brain-Dead Biden in a General Election.
POLITICO also claimed that DeSantis portrays himself as the option for anyone who is concerned or frustrated with the scandals surrounding Donald Trump.
One wealthy businessman who DeSantis met with allegedly told POLITICO that “I’m no drama, I’m no chaos” in reference to Trump’s controversies.
The alleged source said DeSantis touts his record of getting “points on the scoreboard” as well as his military background when making the pitch for donations.
“From what I’ve heard, he does not say President Trump is drama and chaos,” an anonymous source allegedly told POLITICO. “He just says he’s not. So, what is that implying?”
Of course, POLITICO, which already cannot be trusted to report the truth, is basing the entire story on anonymous sources.
However, in a recent interview with Piers Morgan, DeSantis made similar comments about defeating Brain-Dead Biden.
“I have what it takes to be President and I can beat Biden,” DeSantis told Morgan.
Ron DeSantis is headed to the Empire State on Saturday to deliver a speech at the Cradle of Aviation Museum in Long Island.
While DeSantis has yet to make his plans public, he is certainly making all the moves a potential Presidential candidate would be making right now.
And he’s dropping hints along the way, including naming his speech on Saturday “The Florida Blueprint” for America.
