Thursday wasn’t a great day for fans of Donald Trump, but one person who had something to celebrate was former FBI Director James Comey.
Comey took to Twitter soon after Manhattan District Attorney voted to indict former President Donald Trump in relation to the Stormy Daniels hush-money case.
The former FBI director wrote, “It’s been a good day.”

Comey has a heated history with the former president after being fired early into Trump’s presidency.
The New York businessman turned commander in chief removed Comey from his position after the agency’s head decided to involve himself in the Russian collusion case against Trump and the Steele dossier.

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg investigated Trump’s involvement in campaign funds being used to pay off Daniels and another unnamed adult film actress for an alleged affair with the former president.
Federal prosecutors in the Southern District of New York initially opted out of charging Trump for the Stormy Daniels payment in 2019, even as his former lawyer Michael Cohen implicated him as part of his plea deal.
Trump has repeatedly denied “any wrongdoing” in regard to the payments made to Daniels and has repeatedly claimed that the payments were “not a campaign violation,” but simply a “simple private transaction.”

The ex-president is expected to stand before Braggs on Tuesday after Trump’s lawyers negotiated his surrender soon after the indictment was made.
Trump could face up to 30 charges related to business fraud and is said to be photographed and have his fingerprints taken, but his lawyers made it clear that he “will not be put in handcuffs.”
