Democrats are reacting with glee over the news that former President Donald Trump has been indicted by Soros-funded Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg.
Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.), who was the top Democrat in Trump’s first impeachment trial, tweeted:
The indictment of a former president is unprecedented. But so are Trump’s alleged offenses. If the rule of law is to be applied equally—& it must—it must apply to the powerful as it does to everyone else. Even presidents. Especially presidents. To do otherwise is not democracy.

Rep. Ted Lieu (D-Calif.) tweeted, “Indicting a former President is a horrible precedent; the only precedent worse than that is to not indict Donald Trump if there is evidence that he committed crimes. This is a somber moment for America. We should let the judicial system do its job without interference.”

In another Twitter post, Lieu added, “It appears the #TrumpIndictment is a felony indictment, which is more serious than the misdemeanor some have suggested. No one outside the grand jury and Manhattan DA’s office has knowledge of the charges or evidence. Let’s let the judicial system do its job without interference.”

Sen. Cory Booker (D-N.J.) released a statement, declaring, “The bedrock of our legal system is the principle that justice applies to everyone equally. No one is above the law. This indictment isn’t a trivial matter. A grand jury made up of everyday citizens decided that there is enough evidence to charge President Trump with a crime.”

Former congressman and anti-Trumper Adam 'Cry-Baby' Kinzinger tweeted, “Today is a somber day for our nation. Donald Trump committed many crimes, but this indictment should be a reminder that in America, NO ONE is above the law. We must move forward and let justice prevail. The anti-democratic threat, however, hasn’t diminished.”

Trump’s niece, Mary Trump, also celebrated the news in a Twitter post:
It’s official: Donald Trump is the:
1st man in the Oval Office to be impeached twice
1st man in the Oval Office to incite an insurrection
1st to lose the popular vote TWICE
and now . . . the first to be INDICTED.
But the media is missing the biggest reason this is so important: For the victims of Donald, this is finally some measure of justice.
It’s been a long time coming, but after everything Donald has put this country through, WE HAVE PREVAILED.I’ll see you on my substack later (see below) with my take on how this impacts our country and me personally, but for now, let’s take a minute to celebrate–we’ve all earned it.
