Democrats despise Matt Gaetz because he’s effective at fighting against the D.C. Swamp.
Gaetz and a handful of other GOP congressmen refused to endorse Kevin McCarthy without conditions.
And Gaetz made one proposal that just infuriated Merrick Garland.

The FBI raid on Mar-a-Lago was a disturbing moment; never before had a former president’s home been raided by the opposition.
But the malfeasance of the DOJ has come at a cost.
With the Republicans back in charge of the House, members of the GOP want oversight of these institutions that have gone rogue.
And Florida Congressman Matt Gaetz is one of the Republicans leading the charge.
Gaetz proposed the FBI Washington Field Office House Arrest Act, which would cease funding to a new headquarters underway.

Americans have become numb to Congress passing giant, pork-laden omnibus spending bills that include items such as $375 million for new FBI HQ.
It’s unclear why the FBI would need such a lavish expenditure, and Americans are never even given the chance to ask.
These spending bills are thousands of pages long, and members of Congress only get a couple of days to “read” them.
The entire thing is a charade.
Anything that slows down the rubber-stamping of these spending sprees is a good thing, especially for an institution like the FBI that has lost the public trust.
Gaetz explained, “There are still good men and women in the FBI whose task and purpose are to defend our country, but the FBI’s weaponized Washington Field Office is rotten to the core. Through our investigations in the Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government, we have uncovered extremely disturbing testimony from FBI whistleblowers that the Washington Field Office is targeting Americans who oppose their corrupt political agenda.”
The fallout from the Capitol Hill riot is evidence of that.
People who were merely in Washington, D.C. on that day have been treated like terrorists.
Some were even put on the no-fly list.
And the protesters unfortunate enough to set foot inside the Capitol on January 6th have been completely ruined.
Gaetz added, “The cancer at the Washington Field Office has metastasized so large that the entire body is in critical condition. Gifting the FBI a new headquarters larger than the Pentagon would condone, reinforce, and enable their nefarious behavior to levels we have never seen before.”
Gaetz is completely right to put spending on hold.
The FBI should have to explain why it needs $375 million for a new building.
