Donald Trump started throwing punches at Ron DeSantis in the days leading up to the Midterm elections.
But DeSantis is refusing to trade barbs with Trump.
And Piers Morgan was caught off guard by what Ron DeSantis admitted about Trump’s nickname for him.
Democrats and the media have called Florida Governor Ron DeSantis just about every nasty name in the book over the past few years.
He’s been called a “racist,” a “dictator,” a “fascist,” “anti-LGBTQ,” “anti-women,” and a host of other insults by the Left.
During the pandemic, the media also smeared DeSantis with the nickname “Ron DeathSantis” because of his refusal to lock down the state and his opposition to masks and vaccine mandates.
But it’s not just Democrats who are dubbing DeSantis with nicknames.
Former President Donald Trump started attacking DeSantis just before the Midterm elections by calling him “Ron DeSanctimonious.”
Trump also called him “Shutdown Ron” due to COVID restrictions enacted in the early months of the 2020 pandemic.
But the former President has floated several nicknames for DeSantis among his inner circle, including “Meatball Ron,” “Ron DeEstablishment,” and “Tiny D.”
Ron DeSantis previously brushed off the attacks and instead pointed to his 19-point landslide re-election victory in November.
But during a recent interview with Fox Nation’s Piers Morgan, DeSantis opened up about the nicknames with some humor of his own.
Morgan asked DeSantis which nickname he prefers to be called by Trump.
DeSantis said he didn’t know how to spell the sanctimonious one.
“I don’t really know what it means, but I kind of like it,” DeSantis said. “It’s long, it’s got a lot of vowels,” he continued, before adding that “we’ll go with that.”
“That’s fine,” he quipped.
But DeSantis suggested a new nickname for Trump to call him.
“You can call me whatever you want, just as long as you also call me a winner,” he said.
Ron DeSantis on his favorite nickname that Donald Trump has given him so far:
“I don’t know how to spell DeSanctimonious. I don’t really know what it means but I kind of like it.”

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is still refusing to engage in back-and-forth attacks with Donald Trump.
But DeSantis is no longer just ignoring the attacks from Trump.
Instead, the Florida Governor is proving he has a thick skin by turning the insults into humor.
And DeSantis not responding with attacks will likely drive Trump up the wall.
