The 2024 Presidential race is heating up.
And even though he’s not even in the race yet, Ron DeSantis is coming under intense fire from all sides.
But Ron DeSantis just gained a ton of conservative support after this attack by neocon Nikki Haley.
As it stands right now, the only Republican who even stands a prayer of defeating Donald Trump for the GOP nomination is Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.
That’s why he has been under constant attack from both Donald Trump and other GOP candidates.
The neocons have their knives out for DeSantis
The latest attack comes from former South Carolina Governor and proud neocon Nikki Haley.
She took a shot at DeSantis over the ongoing war in Ukraine.
Specifically, Haley took a shot at DeSantis’ correct view that the war, while certainly bad, is a regional conflict.
Haley recently did an interview with Fox News’ Brian Kilmeade where she discussed the main differences between her views and those of DeSantis.
And not surprisingly her main focus was on foreign policy where their differences are indeed stark.
Haley has never seen a conflict she didn’t want to send Americans to fight and die in, and DeSantis believes in the Constitution instead.
The discussion with Kilmeade focused on Ukraine.
“DeSantis is completely wrong on this. This is not the time to get weak in the knees on Russia, which is what he’s doing. This is the time to understand that the reason Russia is trying to get our drones is because we have weakness,” Haley said, trying to make DeSantis sound weak because he opposes her calls for American involvement in the conflict.
“The reason is because they hear this conversation. That same mentality got us into the situation we are in with China. We need to be forceful. When that drone went down, Biden should have put two drones up there. We need to get our naval fleet in the Black Sea, it never should have some out in the first place. You send a message that there are consequences to pay and we are not going to put up with it,” Haley continued.
Attacks from all sides
Of course, Haley wasn’t the only one to attack DeSantis for his sanity.
New Hampshire Republican Governor Chris Sununu, also rumored to be considering a run for President, commented on his fellow 2024 Presidential hopeful’s comments on Ukraine.
Sununu appeared on CNN with Jake Tapper and attacked DeSantis while also shockingly saying of the $50 billion in taxpayer dollars already sent to Ukraine, “I’m the most fiscally conservative Governor in the country, and I’m telling you, that’s a deal.”
Clearly Sununu is in no way the most fiscally conservative Governor or he would not support billions upon billions of dollars being sent to Ukraine with absolutely no accountability.
And radical left-wing Democrat Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer also attacked DeSantis for endorsing only conditional support to Ukraine.
Whitmer made her comments during an interview with Jen Psaki on MSNBC.
The beleaguered Governor said, “I am not an expert on geopolitics, but I will say this. I think it’s really dangerous when politicians are using language that is coming out of the Kremlin.
There’s no question that calling it a ‘territorial dispute’ is to undermine and downplay the Russian invasion, the illegal Russian invasion of Ukraine, as a state that has such a robust Ukrainian population, it is offensive and maddening, and I think it’s dangerous for national security.”
She should have stopped at “I am not an expert on geopolitics . . .”
DeSantis is right on this, and you can especially tell by who is attacking him.
