Fox News’ John Roberts gave a report on Friday that former President Trump, who is currently running again for the presidency may be arrested and handcuffed this coming week. According to Roberts’ report, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg is working on elevating charges that would be misdemeanors in New York to felony charges against Trump. Roberts also noted that the Federal government had previously passed on charging Trump in the same case.
This news has become viral with some who have been hoping for a day that Trump would be arrested and others who see it as an abuse of power, and everything in between.
Elon Musk responded to the news with, “If this happens, Trump will be re-elected in a landslide victory”.
Trump has faced many witch hunts and constant media attacks since he announced in 2015. It never appeared to get to him, and this doesn’t appear to be any different. Trump some would say even did better when he had the pressure against him.
Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) also responded to the news on Twitter:
“Here we go again — an outrageous abuse of power by a radical DA who lets violent criminals walk as he pursues political vengeance against President Trump. I’m directing relevant committees to immediately investigate if federal funds are being used to subvert our democracy by interfering in elections with politically motivated prosecutions”
In our speculation, based on McCarthy’s tweet, I would guess that Jim Jordan who heads the Weaponization Committee will have a new project to work on.
