Governor Whitmer recently made yet another media appearance, and this time, it wasn’t to admit that banning gardening actually didn’t stop COVID-19 (shocker, I know). No, this time she claimed that Ron DeSantis is a mouthpiece for the Kremlin.
I feel like I’ve seen this plot before…

Whitmer made the comments in an interview with Jen Psaki, which will air this Sunday at noon, on Psaki’s brand new MSNBC show, “Inside with Jen Psaki”. In the clip from the interview, Psaki asked, “A fellow Governor, Ron DeSantis, recently made clear this week that supporting Ukraine is not a vital national interest to the United States. What do you say to that?” Whitmer said it is “dangerous when politicians are using language that is coming out of the Kremlin.”
Silly DeSantis. Doesn’t he know that Ukraine has a sovereign right to defend their borders against any and all invasions? Perhaps with a big, beautiful wall?
Really though, this is getting out of hand. The Atlantic just published an article titled, “DeSantis Will Betray Ukraine For MAGA Votes”.

I had no idea Ron DeSantis, the governor of Florida, was so vital to the Ukrainian people. One could say it actually feels like politicians are betraying America by caring more about Ukraine’s border than literally anything else in the country. Including our very own border. But one may be labeled a Kremlin mouthpiece for such comments.
Anywho, of all the ways Psaki could have kicked off her new show, an interview with Gretchen Whitmer seems like a bad choice. She hasn’t been relevant since the FBI tried to kidnap her. Given the shots she fired at DeSantis, I can’t help but wonder if she’s considering a 2024 run. I’m not sure if she or Gavin Newsom would be worse as President. I pray we won’t find out.
